Fleas Natural Predator: What Is It

Fleas Natural Predator, What is it?

Many people ask this question, I’ve asked myself, what is the  fleas natural predator?  Yes, fleas do have a natural predator, in fact they have a few!  Fleas will be eaten by snakes, ants, beetles, spiders, frogs and lizards.  These are all fleas natural predators.

Fleas can be anywhere but like dirt and sand!

I’m sure there are many more natural predators to control fleas but these are just a few that I’ve come across while researching the all natural flea control!

It make a lot of sense actually, that these natural things like spiders and ants, would eat the fleas along with the other life stages of the flea like the egg, larvae and pupae stages.

I don’t know about you but I’m definitely guilty of killing off these natural predators because they just creep me out.  I hate spiders and anything that’s creepy crawly.  I think I need to stop!

When I thought about it I actually thought I deserved the fleas, what did the spiders ever do to me, except really creep me out because they got so huge I thought I was going to be it’s next meal.

Spiders are typically harmless unless provoked, it’s the same with beetles and ants. Their more of an annoyance than anything.  I personally am going to take more notice to these natural flea predators and not kill them on sight.

If these creepy critters can play a role in flea prevention on my animals instead of a ton of chemicals then I’m all for it!  Maybe if we didn’t keep messing with the natural role of nature, we wouldn’t have half of the flea infestations to begin with.

Another measure I’m going to try is nematodes.  These are tiny worm like critters that feed on the flea larvae and eggs.  They’re just a tiny little worm.  I did read that you have to get the “beneficial” nematodes, “regular” nematodes can cause heart worm in our pets.

The “beneficial” nematodes kill off the fleas naturally in our yards, where the fleas like to reproduce and sit waiting for there host, our pets or us if they’re desperate enough.

Beneficial Nematodes

You can get, “beneficial” nematodes delivered right to your door.  They like warm, moist, shady conditions, just like the flea, and they’re a natural flea predator that we can introduce into our outside environment.

Get “beneficial” nematodes at Amazon they’ll deliver them when your ready to introduce them into your yard.  You should do this in the very early spring, before the flea eggs hatch.

Get a jump on the fleas in your yard before it gets warmer.  Don’t kill off the fleas natural predators like the spider, beetles, ants, frogs and snakes.  Give the “beneficial” nematodes a try as well.  It’s an all natural preventative measure that our pets and wildlife will thank

If you have used the “beneficial” nematodes, please share your story in the comments section!  We’d love to know how it has worked for your flea control! 🙂
